This Privacy Policy explains how 19Fairways ("19Fairways," "we," "us," or "our"), operated by 19Fairways LLC, collects, uses, and shares information when you use the 19Fairways mobile and web applications and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Account and identity
You sign in using a third-party provider (Apple, Google, or Microsoft). We receive your name and email address from that provider. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, we receive a private relay address, and you may add a separate contact email so event organizers can invite you.
Profile information
Information you choose to add to your profile, such as your handicap or handicap index, home course, profile photo, display preferences (language and color theme), and optional payment handles (for example Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle usernames) used to help your group settle up after a round.
Golf activity
Scores, rounds, statistics, course selections, and the tournaments and leagues you create or join, including pairings, results, and payouts.
Location
With your permission, we access your device's GPS location while you are actively viewing on-course distances, so we can show yardages to the front, center, and back of the green. See Location below.
Payment information
If you purchase a subscription or pay event fees, payments are processed by our payment providers (such as Apple, Google, or Stripe). We do not collect or store your full payment card number. We may receive limited transaction details such as a subscription status, plan, and confirmation identifiers.
Device and usage information
Basic technical information needed to operate the Service, such as device type, app version, and log data used to keep the app working and to diagnose problems.
2. How we use information
- Provide and operate the Service — scoring, live leaderboards, GPS distances, handicap tracking, and running tournaments and leagues.
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you at sign-in.
- Match you to events you are invited to and connect you with the groups you play in.
- Process subscriptions and event fees and manage your access to paid features.
- Respond to support requests and communicate about the Service.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability and features.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described here:
- With other users in your events. When you join or are added to a tournament, league, or shared round, certain information is visible to other participants and organizers — such as your name, profile photo, handicap, scores, and (if you have set them) your payment handles for settling up.
- With service providers. We use trusted third parties to host our infrastructure, store data, authenticate sign-in, process payments, provide maps, and supply golf course information. They may process your information only to provide services to us.
- For legal reasons. If required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as permitted by law.
4. Location information
Location access is optional and used only to display on-course distances while you are using that feature. You can grant or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. If you decline, the rest of the app continues to work; you simply will not see GPS yardages.
5. Payments and subscriptions
The Service may offer a free trial and paid features. Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play are billed by Apple or Google under their terms, and you manage or cancel them through your App Store or Google Play account. Other payments may be processed by Stripe. Payment handles you add to your profile (such as Venmo or Cash App) are stored to display to members of your group and are not used by us to charge you.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data as described below.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and update. You can view and edit your profile information in the app at any time.
- Location. Manage location permission in your device settings.
- Deletion. You can request that we delete your account and personal information by contacting us at the email below.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK or California), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your information. Contact us to exercise these rights.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
